MONOVISION

Advantages of Monovision:

  Simple fitting procedure
  Can use any type of contact lens
  Patient can see at near straight ahead or in 
      upgaze as well as in reading position
      (can not do this with most spectacle bifocals)
  Minimal cost
  Relatively high success rate 
       (approx. 70%)


Disadvantages:

  Some patients can not adapt to it
  Some loss of stereopsis
  Some blurring and flare
